Airbrush makeup is what I offer for weddings and any special event where a client needs their makeup to be long lasting, without having to do touch ups. It is my preferred method for makeup because it gives the best results and saves time in the process.
Airbrush makeup has long been popular in Hollywood and among celebrities, and for good reason. It’s lightweight and breathable, while still providing a full coverage, flawless finish. It’s long wearing-anywhere from 14-24 hours, and doesn’t require touch ups. It’s smudge proof, hug proof, rub proof, and can even be sweat proof. All reasons why it is the ideal makeup application for weddings and special events.
Airbrush makeup can be customized to the clients needs and comfort level with makeup. Anything from soft and natural looks, to full on glam. It also provides the best corrective coverage. Skin issues such as discoloration, rosacea, dark circles, and acne can all be improved by using corrective coverage and airbrush techniques.
Traditional makeup is what most people are familiar with. Liquid foundations, powders, creams, etc. Usually applied with brushes or sponges. It can also be customized to each individual client. Coverage can range from light or medium to full. Natural to glam. Corrective coverage can also be done just as with airbrush makeup.
The biggest differences lie in the longevity. While there are products you can use to help traditional makeup stay on longer, it typically won’t last as long as airbrush. It also is not usually smudge, hug, rub, or sweat proof. And touch ups are typically required throughout the day.
Traditional makeup isn’t as breathable as airbrush either. If you’re a regular makeup wearer, then you are probably used to how it feels on your skin and likely don’t notice it with your daily coverage. If you are wanting a fuller, more glamorous look, or even need color correction with it, you will most definitely notice that it can feel heavier.
So, having said all of that, traditional makeup is still beautiful, and can be a great option for younger clients such as flower girls, who may only need a touch of blush and some lip gloss, or those who don’t want to go all out with the airbrush experience. It’s also suitable for very natural brides, who don’t typically wear a lot of makeup and don’t require corrective coverage.
There are 3 options for traditional makeup, so whatever your preference, we will find the right fit for you. We will discuss everything at the consultation (for weddings), or I’m happy to sit down with any client who is unsure what to do for makeup or has any questions.
